Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Adapted from cooking blog Kitchen with Mommy, these drumsticks were easy to make as I definitely would recommend it for a beginner in the kitchen. It did take a while to bake, and I was fine with that, because then I had a chance to make a fun side dish while waiting for the drumsticks. From the easy ingredient list, you could simply master the spices however way you wanted. The main thing was simply knowing how long to cook the chicken for, hence no exact measurement on the spices. Either way, follow however much spice you would want on your taste level, and bake away.

  • 6 chicken drumsticks (leave skins on)
  • olive oil
  • paprika
  • garlic powder
  • salt
  • fresh ground pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Place drumsticks in a 9x13 baking dish, and rub the drumsticks with enough olive oil to lightly coat them on all sides. Sprinkle the drumsticks with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bake drumsticks for 22 minutes.
  4. Flip the drumsticks, sprinkle them again with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and bake for an additional 23 minutes (so they are in the oven for 45 minutes total) until skin is golden brown and juices run clear.

Note: I put the drumsticks in a large zipper bag, toss the rest of ingredients in the bag, and flipped the entire thing back and forth until the drumsticks were covered. This eliminated the turning of the chicken and re-spicing midday through the baking process.
